Mmm…I can still smell them frying. Despite Martin’s kind words about my chanterelle-seeking skills, finding this lot was pure fluke. I’d just disappeared off into the woods for a while to make a phone call. I looked down and there were just loads of chanterelles at my feet. The video cuts off before the third heap is delivered!
Anyway, I don’t expect I’ll be as lucky again for a while, but many thanks to Martin for his committed mushroom frying efforts - it gave a real lift to the evening’s dining, I think, a definite improvement on the instant camping food I’d just forced down…
