Planning the 2008 Outdoor Academy of Sweden

Hello,

We’re busy planning the 2008 Outdoor Academy of Sweden, OAS that will be organized in western Sweden.

For retailers and others who are particularly adventurous, we can reveal that OAS 2008 starts off September 23rd with a two-night stay at a wilderness camp that will involve paddling and hiking in the Dalsland region. After this excursion the group meet up with the press and tour operators at Nordens Ark in Bohuslän. The following days will be filled with activities such as biking, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing and lobster fishing.  All so that the participants can experience the amazing Bohuslän archipelago and discover the many exciting outdoor activities it has to offer.

We will be back soon with more detailed information.

Introducing: Culinary Academy of Sweden

As an extension of the Outdoor Academy concept VisitSweden now introduces Culinary Academy of Sweden in cooperation with Position Skåne and SAS.
For four days the participants will have the opportunities to try sausage making, Absolut Academy, a Cooking Course, a traditional eel feast and much more in Skåne, Sweden.

Day 6: Visit to Rensjön

Jenny and the Lap GateAfter a pretty late Sunday night I woke up on Monday morning and realized that this was the last day of our trip.
Times goes by too fast sometimes….

We took the bus and went to Rensjön and met this calm and interesting Sami man, Nils Anders Kuhmunen.
He told us about Sami culture and a bit about his daily life. After a cosy lunch inside his Lavvo we met his reindeers and some of us got the opportunity to feed them.

Then is was time to continue our trip back to Kiruna Airport, Stockholm and Europe.

I must admit that on the flight back to Stockholm I slept like a baby.
